lvl 60 -- Reddit Thread

https://www.reddit.com/r/SwordofConvallaria/comments/1etn0kx/weaponry_trial_ii_level_60_with_level_40_units/

Tactics: Urgent Order, Pursuit Order, Flag of Convallaria

Gear at 7:58.

This is more of an easier team to recreate than my Weaponry Trial I. With Rawiyah though there is some RNG with her crits if you want to clear within 15 turns.

~~~
General strategy:
  • Urgent Order is used to push the healer before the DPS so they will not have Injured or Dying penalties. Pursuit Order is used one time at the end to squeeze in enough damage by turn 15. Flag of Convallaria is good for the NRG for more damage but also for Papal Guard to shield more often.
  • The boss follows a fixed pattern: nuke on farthest unit (first turn is the farthest 2 units), small nuke on the two closest units, cross pattern lightning attack coming from the previous two units, knockback on the three rows in the middle and spawns purple crystals, then back to the nuke on the farthest unit.
  • During the cross pattern lightning attack, try to destroy any purple crystals that appear in the three rows in the middle so the next knockback attack won't push you into them. The purple crystals explode dealing damage to the four adjacent squares.
  • It's easy to avoid the knockback attack by standing off to the side, but if the DPS is lacking, you will have to tank it.
~~~

Remarks on this clear:

  • I used Cooling Powder (prevents no healing) on Papal Guard just to make things easier but I don't think it's necessary.

  • All level 50 gear again. A bit overkill in terms of defense but the damage was very tight to finish within 15 turns. Maitha could perhaps use a damage tarot.

  • For Rawiyah and Stormbreaker, don't necessarily use their "ranged" skills or gap closers on cooldown; save it if you are close to the knockback turn.

Trials 3

lvl 60 - Reddit Thread #1

https://www.reddit.com/r/SwordofConvallaria/comments/1esjn94/pushing_limits_of_weaponry_trial_3_stage_9_lv60/

hey all, back with another in-depth strategy video

covering weaponry trial 3 once again, this time for level 60. i didn't go into as much detail with the skill trees and boss mechanics like in the previous video, because if you've pushed the trial this far, you're familiar with most of the mechanics.

considering the bigger level deficit from challenging stage 7 @ voyager level 35, overcoming the stage 9 boss is a huge stat check to see if your units are tall enough to tank his nukes and AoEs. although i tried to preserve as many resources as i could, i still ended up having to deploy several castalia, any and all radiant powder i could muster for Angel's gears, and substantial investment into the defensive talent trees for the Watcher and Seeker paths (though not too bad, they're 2 of the 3 best trees, after all).

i also notice that this trial's mechanic targeting the unit with the highest mdef is a bit... buggy? have seen several people reporting that the boss targets units incorrectly, which happened to me in a few runs as well (though mostly it stuck to the described wording). so beware about that.

here's a copy/paste of my character stats at time of clear, within the character screen before they get in-battle buffs.

Stats:

Angel—  3311 HP, 636 Mdef, 1423 Matk
Col—    3147 HP, 540 Mdef, 1690 Atk
Gloria— 3357 HP, 436 Mdef, 1538 Atk
Rawiyah—3627 HP, 380 Mdef, 1684 Atk
Falcon— 3178 HP, 463 Mdef, 1613 Atk

Relevant Talent Tree Stats:

Watcher— 70+6% HP, 54+6% Mdef, 110+5% Atk
Seeker— 110+7% HP, 50+1% Mdef, 145+5% Atk

Tactics: Marching Command and Urgent Order (very important to top off health before dangerous rounds, or break shield)

the dangerous turns to look out for are Turn 2 and 5, with 6 to a lesser degree. if you can survive past round 6, it should be smooth sailing with your team's ramped up stats from 4 Devil Tarot equipped and Col having constant life steal. unfortunately i'm not yet aware of any replacements possible for the Gloria/Col gacha pair, since this run already includes Crimson Falcon.

with that said, wishing you all luck in pushing your weapon farm as high as you wanna go. will do my best to clear the other stage 60 trials and keep track of how many legendary drops i get from daily sweeps at stage 9 now that they're listed as "common" rather than the "possible" and "rare" wording for previous 2 levels. (there's a player named Narwhal who has youtube clear videos and decent write-ups and screenshots of his builds, if you're reading this on a different boss day).

so in any case, thanks for reading this far! and please let me know if you've been able to figure out other teams to clear these bosses, i'm sure many of us would be interested in hearing alternative strategies since we don't all have access to the same units.

cheers.

lvl 65 -- Reddit Thread #2

https://www.reddit.com/r/SwordofConvallaria/comments/1euu6si/weaponry_trials_iii_level_65_run_level_45_units/

The video gives an explanation of the run, the setup, cards, challenges etc, then showcases a run. If you want to skip to just look at the run, you can skip to 16.14

Units used & setup(all lv 45):
Gloria with lance of justice, front defense, longinus - brilliance, lance of longinus, longinus - thrust
Equipment: Silent Guard (50), Coexist Armor (50), Temptation of the devil

Col with Critical Strike, Eerie footwork, Flurry of stabs, Perfect Assassin, Omen of Death
Equipment: Newborn Blade (50), Maverick's Cloak (40), Temptation of the devil

Crimson falcon with Armor-piercing strike, Vital guard, Flurry of stabs, Ambush, Precise strike
Equipment: Void stab (50), True lens (40), Verdict of justice

Angel with Dispelling Strike, Protection of Light, Healing Spell, Light of Healing, M.DEF Command
Equipment: Starry Sky Heritage (50), Unique Coat (40), Mercy of the high priestess

***Magnus with Feverish Attack, Hardening, Mountain Breaker, Cry of Victory, Blood & Steel
Equipment: Antimagic Axe (40) (I have this axe 3 star), Spring Pill (40), Redemption of the judgement

***Although a lot of people pulled for Gloria and Col, I do not expect a lot of people to have Magnus. I used magus for his atk decrease effect on the boss. If you don't have him, you can try with Suppression (I will try a run with him tomorrow, I can't attempt it today) or Nightingale if you need more healing.

Strategy:
1) Each time you kill one of the minions the boss gains a buff which increases its attack by 4% per minion. You can dispel stacks of the boss' buff, which is why I have the Antimagic axe (even if it is level 40) and the Redemption of the judgement tarot. If you are using this tarot, you need to ensure the unit that is using this is standing exactly in the middle/front of the boss otherwise the skill would not apply. You can see in my video how I positioned Magus for this effect to apply.

2) I focused on reducing the boss' atk while increasing my defensive capabilities. Magnus' trait does -8% ATK within 3 spaces, and his skill casts ATK II down on the boss. In addition, I have M.DEF command on Angel to increase the magic defense of my team. Before the boss cast's his 170% MATK skill, I have Gloria use her lance throw, which gives a global +15% def buff, but also increases her own defense by an additional 40%

***Special note if you do not have magnus: Magnus has a Trait/aura which decreases the boss' ATK by 8%. This does not stack with Gloria's Solemnity Aura. If you do not have Magnus (but if you do have Gloria), I highly recommend bringing Gloria with Solemnity & Redemption of the judgement tarot. For both the aura/tarot to work, there is only 1 spot on the entire map where these effects can apply, so make sure you put Gloria in that spot (it is right in front of the boss, in the middle - if you look at my video, it is where I have placed my Magnus for the entire fight).

3) Lots of minions spawn in this fight, and they are often far away from the boss. To kill these, I brought 2 seekers - Col & Crimson Falcon. I'm not sure how to tackle this run if you don't have Col, as Col was vital in killing these ads quickly and still doing a lot of damage to the boss. I used tarot of the devil on Col to give him an easy +30% ATK/DEF. I also used this on Gloria as well so that Col's MDEF doesn't exceed Gloria's. If I had to bring Judgement on Gloria, I would probably use Justice on Col. Crimson Falcon worked much better than Lightning as the second seeker because sometimes you had to jump over high cliffs which Lighting wasn't able to do.

The strategy for level 65 was very similar to level 60 - the only difference was more damage/health on boss/minions. You can replicate this strategy for level 60 as well.

Happy weapon hunting!
